Materia nella 50 Best Discovery

Starting this year, the famous World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking has decided to expand its selection, creating the 50 Best Discovery, in which the best restaurants from all over the world are selected. It is with great pride that we inform you that Materia has joined the list. We are happy to have achieved this great result, but we are even happier to have succeeded, for the first time, in making the province of Como, a new destination on the world’s gastronomic maps. Onwards and upwards!

Davide Caranchini è “Giovane dell’anno” per la guida ai Ristoranti d’Italia 2018 de L’Espresso

In La Repubblica of 15 August 2017, some of the special awards of the 2018 Guida ai Ristoranti d’Italia were announced. It was with great pleasure that we were surprised to see our chef Davide Caranchini, awarded ‘Young Person of the Year’. The guide will be published on 19 October 2017 at the Leopolda in Florence, and on that occasion Davide will pick up the award. This was incredible news, almost a year after we opened, and it fills us with pride and emotion. We are convinced that this recognition will help us to do our best to give you the best possible experience. Onwards and upwards, always!

Davide Caranchini è il Miglior Chef Emergente del Nord 2017

On Monday 28 November, the final of Chef Emergente Nord 2017, the historic competition conceived and organised by the well-known food critic Luigi Cremona, took place in Milan. After being selected to participate, Davide first had to pass the regional qualification, winning in a tie with Stefano Bacchelli, and then compete in the final, where, again, the competition ended with an ex-aequo between the two participants. The appointment now is for October 2017 in Rome, when the national final will be held.
